The Federation of Unions of South Africa (FEDUSA) warmly congratulates its affiliate, the National Teachers’ Union (NATU), on the successful conclusion of its National Elective Conference, held from 3 to 5 September 2025 at the Birchwood OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg, Gauteng.
The three-day conference provided not only an opportunity to elect new leadership but also a vital platform to deliberate on critical challenges confronting South Africa’s education sector.
NATU’s new leadership for the 2025–2028 term is as follows:

Malinga Deputy President: Mr. G.M. Mabuza
General Secretary: Mr. M. Mabija
Vice Presidents: Mr. S.A. Dlamini, Mrs. P. Mnabe, Mrs. B.Z. Mbatha, Mr. S.L. Mabele
FEDUSA further acknowledges the commitment and contribution of the outgoing leadership. We extend our gratitude for their dedicated service and wish them every success in their future endeavours. FEDUSA stands proudly alongside NATU. We reaffirm our solidarity, our collective voice, and our organising strength. Together, we will reimagine, rebuild, and reclaim education as the beating heart of our democracy.
